Im most likely going to re-do the 6.9 and focus money on a D60 and ZF 5-6 speed and i was wondering if i could drill and tap the heads and block to use 7.3 studs or bolts ?
Nope, difference between 6.9 and 7.3 is 1/16" of an inch, which isnt enough to drill and tap, wont give the threads enough meat. 9/16" is the way to go, but nobody has attempted it....

The ZF6 speed bellhousing will not work with the IDI's or 1st generation 7.3 PSD's. Plus, there is no real reason to go to all the trouble to modifiy everything to make it work. The only thing you gain from the ZF6 is a granny gear. It is basically like having a ZF5 with a low crawer gear. IIRC, the gear knob says L (for low), 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and OD.

someone else on here is going to do one. I was thinking doing the ZF-6 and NP 271 set-up but i havnt looked to see what they go for.
On a side note, can i use an 87 pedal assembly in an 86 or do i need an 80-86 set-up.
