So I have heard through the grape vine that Russ's family has sold off his business.
Looking at the website they even offer a new company for injector service.

Has anyone heard of them? Anyone with experience?
Not calling them out as good or bad, just spreading awareness.

https://deeringdiesel.com/ is their site.

Looks more like they're trying to stock up.
I believe that he had at least some stockpiled parts they could list...
Hopefully they bring the idi goodness

Checked their site,, they don`t have any where the inventory Russ had.
It`s down to almost nothing.
The Braded SS Cutch line they offer is what Russ sold also. Bought one
from him several years ago and made bleeding the Clutch easy.
It`s about $20 more now.
Russ also had Turbo parts. I bought new FW Bolts when I did the clutch on
my 86, so they were not old over torqued mis matched etc... NL available.

Looked up https://russrepair.com/ and still some stuff listed.

I believe William Deering is the guy who makes the aluminum IDI injector return caps. According to his interactions on Facebook, he seems pretty reasonable and IDI knowledgeable. Regarding inventory, all I can say is I delivered what I believe was the last big batch of cores from a storage unit in Maple Valley Washington to Russ in Oregon in January of 2022. It was a large black and yellow tote that took two people to move. I would guess it was 500-600 cores, which is really only 65-75 sets when you think about it.

I spent an hour chatting with Russ and his son. His grandson was actually there too. Pretty cool seeing three generations all in one sitting! Didn’t know that would be the last time we shook hands. I can’t believe that was almost three years ago.

Have seen some of the postings about the CNC'd caps on here and they look great, think the PetersonCNC ebay seller is the guy you mention but am unable to find a username with the name on the forum here. Not sure if it's Deering or not and no affiliation myself but here's a link to the ebay store in case it's relevant for anyone.

Edit: I am not am ebay associate that's auto-generated by pasting the link

For clarification, Oilburners.net is an eBay associate, that’s the meaning of this message.
Oh thanks never realized that. Didn't want to come across as a shill

Yeah that's him and just saw you snagged a set! Looks like the deering diesel website stocks a similar product, they the same guy? The ebay store seems to be doing a fair amount of business so makes sense there'd be some competition despite the similar price point

I did get a set, theyll be used on my dads engine once it is done being built.

Still curious what the quality of the injectors built will be.

Also strange so many listings are still up, with just the purchase option removed.

Hey yea William is the one who took it over. Before his death I had some long talks with Russ about taking over a significant portion of his operations to allow more time with his wife. He kept talking how William was pretty well moved in on it. I had done some test parts for him to show I was serious, but my work schedule kept getting in the way of coming around more often.

I personally have been buying from William Deering for several years.
he used to offer glowplug relocation kits with new glowplug harnesses, and the work has always been top quality.
now he's taking over most of Russ Repair when it comes to parts and injectors.

he does not make the return caps, thats another fella who contracted with William to supply them on his site.

i have his first batch of injectors, i inspected them when they came in, and the spray pattern, and the pop pressure were good to go.
i havnt ran them. but i dont see why they wouldn't run great.
pop pressure was 1875 +/- 10 psi on all 8.

i personally know the guy, he's bought several of my trucks.
he's a goof ball, but he's very knowledgeable and does good work.
10/10 would recommend
