Just wanted to thank the folks on this site. I purchased this ‘92 last May to use around our small farm. Used it sporadically for a few months. I ran it out of fuel once (shower heads gone) and learned what a pain it is to prime with a mechanical pump (especially on the side of the road with limited tools and undoubtedly air leaks). Used it a few more times and had a couple more times where it died and was very difficult to get running again. Finally last fall, I went to start it and it just wouldn’t start. It sat over the winter as I read like crazy through many posts on this site and gathered parts.

I’ve spent the past few days up on my knees in the engine bay in 90 degree heat. My back and knees are over it. Thanks to posts here, I:

- installed a moose pump and injectors
- installed new injector lines
- installed new battery cables and starter
- replaced the return lines
- installed new lift pump and also installed a facet back up inline with check valves
- resealed the IP gear housing
- replaced and relocated the glow controller (have the parts, but still debating installing a switch for it)
- installed new glow plugs and harness
- replaced/cleaned up some of the wiring
- replaced the valve cover gaskets
- cleaned both tanks, replaced both sending units and shower heads

Last summer I also replaced the power steering pump, master cylinder and hydro boost thanks to this site.

Thanks to everyone here, this afternoon it started up for the first time since last year. Glad to have it back! Thank you all!

I didn’t see any place were you replaced the return lines. To prime a working system should only be a few cranks. Maybe 2-3 and it’s running. A working properly system is no problem. Dump the e pump leafy the glow plug controller stick but yes move it and fix the problems. I’m pretty sure ford knew how to build the truck.

Sure, manufacturers never create $hitty designs. I fly for a living - read anything about Boeing recently? Edited - I did replace the return lines and kept the lift pump.

Great work! Glad you got your truck running. I let mine sit for a few years. Didn't intend to leave it for that long. I also was able to get information from all the members here to
1. Feel like I could tackle a big project like I knew it would be.
2. Get the resources for part
3. Get good advice to fix some problems or finding out maybe it wasn't really a problem.

The best part about this site is the people here really offer good help. I have never had a question go unanswered. But again great work! And your knees and back won't feel near as bad as how good you feel getting your truck running good

I know that if I had a Centurion, I'd be PROUD to drive it! I'd also have to build something to park it inside of too.
