Should it be loose when not on the motor? If so I might need to change it.Cold high idle solenoid. it pushes up the throttle lever to increase RPM at idle when the engine is cold.

Mine has always failed ever since I first got my first IDI. I've just ignored it. You can pull the wire from the connector, or you can pull the wire from the temp sensor switch on the head. Both will disable the CHIS.

FYI, the temp switch also engages the cold timing advance in the IP, so if you disconnect the switch you'll disable that to.
Sounds good. I’m not going to worry too much about it then. I was just curious as to what it was. Thanks a lot y’all. Do any of y’all know where I can find someone to help me time it the right way? I’m down around Galveston.
