Beating a dead horse. Traction bar idea.

Sorry, I meant a single link, above the center section. I can see why the ones in the photo don't work on some applications.

Beating a dead horse. Traction bar idea.

I have built a lot of traction bars, and personally like a single link above the axle. It provides the best articulation and you won't lose ground clearance.

    Homemade flatdecks

This is one I built a few years ago on a truck. I just finished one on a chevy I just sold but cannot get photos to upload. I have built a couple of them now. I don't define it as a utility bed, but more of a "sport bed".

Front end is shot, need some advise please...

The D50 doesn't take more that 2.5hours to drop out, in a properly equipped shop like mine (hoist and air tools), and about 4 hours to reinstall with new bushings. D50 frt axles are practially free if you do some searching. I don't know what your area is like, but just use caution when dealing...

I have done a 3" down pipe into 4", then dual 3" pipes out each side. I really enjoy the sound and the look!

You can do what you feel is nessesary for mud flaps- I make a statement with mine. Paint them black if they are out of place. Here is the set I made for my Dodge. I will eventually polish the stainless steel.

By the looks of this the filler neck is too flat. It should have a decent slope into the tank, or you can drive on a block everytime you fill up.

    boost question

I recently add a moose jr pump to a friends 94 idi with factory turbo, and plugged the wg to see how it runs. It would hold 15psi as long as I had my foot into the throttle. Certainly made it even more fun to drive!

well shes toast! E4OD TO ZF5 SWAP begins

I would like dibs on the flex plate spacer and reinforcement ring and bolts if they are available. Darn hard pieces to find since a majority of the trucks in my area are manual trans.

    twin turbo idi

Turbos designed for a gas engine should not be used on a diesel, or vise-versa. You will not get the drive pressure/boost ratio right.

anybody out there ever run retread tires?

https://www.treadwright.com/ Follow the link. It should clear up alot of the questions you guys have like the one below taken from their FAQ's. Can I use TreadWright tires on the steering axle? In most cases YES. Commercial use vehicles have restrictions in some states. Check with your...

anybody out there ever run retread tires?

I do know people that run them. They will come apart like a recap will. Keep in mind they will be a harsher ride as they are a hard tread, but they will wear for a long time. Traction is also not very good due to the harder tread.

    shortening a 1993 f350 frame to fit a '78 f250 body

That's a neat book you have there, franklin2. That is a good technic for a "truck" frame, but does not equate to a "pickup" frame. If anyone is concerned with residual stress, simply post heat the area and allow it to cool. Even more importantly, do not weld on the radius of the "truck"...

    Body lift!?

I own an off-road shop and sell parts like this. The only reason they say "Not compatatble with diesel" is because they didn't design it for them, therefore, they did not recommend installing one. It will work, however, you may have to make some of your own brackets for the fan shroud and such...

    shortening a 1993 f350 frame to fit a '78 f250 body

You can simply cut a straight line, weld it, then fish plate. The important part is to make sure every thing is clean and true before you put it back together. Stick, wire feed, flux core, tig, what ever you prefer to weld it with as long as you or the person welding is competent. The frame...

flexplate differences between oem turbo motors and non-turbo motors.

Thanks for the info. I have been looking for used parts but have not located one for the 94 turbo engine yet. I really want to be working on this crew cab, however, I will have to replace the engine in my payloader first! Bad timing too, started knocking and lost all power right before we got...

7.3 idi in a 1970's ford truck any one does this?

The front suspension is heavy enoungh. If you don't think so you can always add an add-a-leaf. I specialize in this kind of stuff. I have been trying to clear up some customer projecst to make room for finishing one of my '75 IDI swaps. I have an extended cab going on an 86 frame, and a SCS...
