I think it was marmon herington that did the Fords, and Napco the Chevys. It looks like a d44 which seems a little late model for a '53, if it were original it should have a big five lug pattern, but Im basically guessing.....

No question about which one.. I want both..:love: Might be asking why.. Well I had a 56 F100 in high school. 13 inch indies on the back of it made it horrible to handle in the rainy weather. It was painted yellow by me and it looked great. Al balck interoir with a bench seat.. Thats got some nice use as a lay down area too...:sly As for kicking the salt belt guys in the junk.. Your sure doing it to them.. Remember that paybacks are a *****...

The 53, then I do have a nearly rust free 48 Willy's pickup 4x4 in my garage. Lots of dings but almost no rust.

As far as being tempted, if some one offered me a trade with my truck for a fairly clean 69 Ford crew 4x4 my truck would be gone! Almost did it for a single cab but that does not work with 4 kids.

That front axle reminds me of the one in my Dad's old 66 Jeep J3000, hiding on the edge of this photo.

the 89 for me
who butchered the '53? I'd rather start with an unmolested rusted out POS than one like that, but I'm a purist if it's pre-75
