Obviously welding was more economical than a new case?

Looks like they did damn good. How in the hell by the way did you manage to break that?

This is a little off subject but I'm going to throw it out thier anyways. How many of you have the ZF 5spd and how much HP/TQ you putting out? Do they hold up well to the higher hp or not? I'm wondering because I have been kind of scared in putting one in my truck as I dont know if it will hold or not!

I had a 97 with a five speed. It now lives across the street. Its stock but my neighbor tows pretty heavy with it and lugs the **** out of the poor thing. Its like he gets a trophy or something if he can make it to the top of the hill in over drive.
He has close to 100,000 on it and no issues. Its a F250 PSD of course and 4:10 GR stock everything.

Roland, I WAS under the impression before I removed the tranny and saw how clean and clear the crack was that the parts had moved and lost the crisp edge, making getting a good weld and keeping it aligned almost impossible.

OK, so I was mistaken:sorry: :yell: ;p

$200 for the welding vs $1500 from a bone yard, or $1500
for a re-con.....Let's hope she holds!

dazedand confused, The dual mass F/W seperated and took out the case thru vibration!
At first I thought I was throwing a U-joint:mad:
I'm a touch:rolleyes: over 300 HP:smoke:
Swamp has stated{somewhere?} the torque limits for the input shaft....check out TDS

Thanx all for the words!
