well im looking into the t18 and np 435 for my tuck. the low first gear dosent bother me, senice my truck will be in the trails more than on road use. around where i live the t18, t19 and np435 are everywhere and i tough about doing a zf5 but the junk yard i was pulling it form smashed it with the loader tractor, it took me three months searching around to find that zf5. But what bell housings of the four speeds will mate up the 7.3IDI. i have the adapter plate. so as the spring is coming what four speeds do i pull form what motors ? and which ones will have hydraulic clutches? i would like to run the t18 or np 435 for the low first gear

You need a bell housing from a 4sp T19 diesel powered truck. 83-89 IIRC that bell housing should fit all three transmissions T18/9 and NP 435 and have the proper clutch setup for a hydraulic slave.

Bummer. I can't see the attachment.

I managed to find the right bell housing last summer, forgot how much but I am planning a 4 speed swap as soon as I can. May liberate the tranny and single speed transfer case from my 73 F100. It managed to stand up behind a built 360 and heavy duty farm use so I think it will handle my 6.9 and it's output. Or maybe go divorced, I dunno.

I do know that the granny low is great for a workhorse. ..
