Has any one jammed a yorkie in an obs psd? I am thinking of trying but found nothing but on a idi. I would like to mate a v pulley to the threaded shaft of the power steering pump once i figure out the thread pitch. Is this a bad idea?

My F 450 was an ambulance once upon a time. Then it had a separate compressor for the a/c in the rear and it was mounted beside the "Ford" alternator and had a v belt turning it. It still has the v belt pulley on front of crankshaft but I removed the idler for this and the bracket on side of the alternator bracket. The answer to your question is "yes, its possible and has been done.

I am going to try to mount the pump just above the ps pump on the side of the factory ac. The ps pump has a threaded shaft for removing the pulley I am thinking of putting a v pulley on the front of the serp pulley for the compressor. With 3/4 wrap around from the serp belt I shouldnt get any slip and I wont be pumping while going down the road. Bad idea?
