WTB: ZF-5 4x4 rear case half or core transmission.

I am rebuilding my transmission, and what was initially thought to be a shifter leak turned out to be a cracked case half in the rear.

I am also needing many small miscellaneous parts that nobody sells separately.

I have cash available, or can have it freight shipped.

I honestly do not know for sure. Can you get me part numbers off the two rear case halves? If they match what I have, then we're in business.

The rear case half might be the same, but I might be able to offer a transmission. I'm working on a deal for a drivetrain from a 93 F250, hopefully I'll have it figured out this weekend.

Good to hear. What kind of transmission would you have? A known good used, or a core? What would be your price, and are you located in Nebraska?

Unfortunately I need answers ASAP as I'm actively looking for parts locally too.

It's in a truck that came into my local salvage yard in the last month. It's a complete truck, was running when it got there. I'll see if I can get them to let me drive it around the yard or not. Price for the tranny would depend on what kind of price they make me pay for it.

They are being real ***** about this truck. I don't know if someone that works there wants it or what but they won't even listen to me when I talk to them about the engine we want from it. The guy at the counter was like "which truck. its not in my computer...V6 or V8...." I told him buddy its a diesel. "Oh its a powerstroke, so V8. Well its not in my computer..." I said no man its not a powerstroke its a Ford International Harvester IDI diesel. Its a 7.3L IH Diesel. "yea a powerstroke... well powerstrokes sell for $3-4k." I said again, no its an IDI not a powerstroke. He was a complete idiot "GM only made a diesel engine called an IDI" I gave up and asked so you want $4k for that engine and he said "yea what don't you understand, powerstrokes sell all day long for $4k!" I walked out. I'm afraid I might not be able to make a deal. I'll go back tomorrow and ask to speak to the owner of the yard.

I just missed a case half, exactly what I needed that went for $50 on ebay.the 351 or 460 halves should have a 1307 401 093.Part number cast in them, that's the one I need.

Holy crap, nebraska I completely missed your post. Kinda hard to surf forums on a crackberry. Thank you so much for investigating this 'powerstroke' transmission. You'd be surprised, in chicago, anything diesel is also magically transformed into a powerstroke too haha.
