Take back the HF pump as its not gonna work and pick up another PS pump from a salvage yard or something... best option unless you want to spend the coin on a legit gear pump like the one posted above... typically run $300+

We have one of the HF pumps, not good for anything but light fuel transfer. It won't pump cold WMO without a filter on it, can't imagine how bad it would be with a filter.

I use a HF water pump for pushing through my filters, it works pretty well. Not super fast, but fast enough. Pry takes 20 minutes to do 35 gallons or so through 1um water filters and then through a 2um absolute filter.

I'd love to find a nice 120v self priming pump to use on top of the "clean" barrel we use, similar to what comes on pickup bed transfer tanks. Almost all of them are 12v. Arms get tired using the rotary hand pumps by the time you're done filling up.
