Went to the parts store for a fuel filter. Wix fuel filter $40. We always used Wix filters on our farm tractors, and popular opinion rules they are the best. The '90 had a Fram on it when I bought it. Opinions?
yeah i bout wet myself at napa when they told me that. I went to filterbarn.com and ordered up some INTERNATIONAL fuel filters at 9 bucks a pop. buy 100 bucks worth and get free shipping!!
That's just about what I paid for my last fuel filter. I had sticker shock too. On the other hand, I'm willing to pay that bit of premium because I consider Wix as about the best commonly available filter.
The reason why its so much is because of the WIF sensor at the bottom, try getting one without the sensor port...Also could try a Napa Gold filter, there the same exact thing just different name on the outside.
I changed my filter two weeks ago and have always used WIX from day one along with oil filter also and the Rotella oil.Have had good luck with high mileage trucks using them and was advised by old diesel mechanic to use and stay with them.Don't know anything about other brands as WIX is all I've had or used.Talking about sticker shock they use to be $25 and then went to $40!
