can i use a 99.5-2002 7.3 PSD engine harness to replace my 97 7.3 PSD?

i need to purchase one or the other.
id like to get away from the 2 connectors in 1 valve cover.

will the main connector swap out?

thanks!

No. Not directly anyway.

If the main point is to get away from using the OBS style dual-connector valve cover harnesses, why not just get the newer SD style, grab a soldering iron and some heat shrink, and wire them in? That's what I did with mine...

This is a 63 ranchero project, when I got the engine it was hacked. So I need a new one.
I'm just weighing my options.
We're all the injector and glow plug wires the same color?
I've done this on my 01 SD.
This is my first early PSD

No, the wires aren't the same, but if you follow the pattern from your old harness to the new one, you can make sense of it. I made a write up somewhere on FTE, maybe I can find it. Either that or you can search for one, lots of people have done it and written different write-ups for it.
