wiper blades!

What do y'all use? I got a pair of Rain-X blades and they work miracles even in torrential rains, but they pretty much suck with snow and cold - they cannot push the slush off my windshield, at least not all of it, it gets in them and makes them jump and skip and drag. Suggestions onto what brand and/or type of blades works good in heavy snow?

Me, I just buy the cheap steel framed blades from Walmart, they last just as long as any good blade I've had and I just replace them once a year like clock work.

I religiously apply RAIN-X to all my windshields and have been doing so for years.

With a good coat of RAIN-X, just about any old wiper-blade works wonderfully.

Once the road-speed gets up past forty, I can turn the wipers off.


Yesterday, I even managed to bend/kink the right-side blade/arm such that it finally gets down in that dip that is in my windshield, instead of bridging across and leaving it un-wiped; we'll see how long that works.(the last glass that got put in has a swag in it that shouldn't be there)



I have been contemplating rigging up one of those water-tanks and pumps that use garden-hose, like the off-roaders have been doing to spray the mud off the glass, and keep the tank filled with de-icer, for those times when nothing seems to keep the wipers clear; maybe put a heating element in the tank.

Always liked the Bosch blades. Hitting with the rainx winter washer fluid helps a bunch.

I like the standard winter style blades all year 'round. I guess it's because I get a lot of dirt tossed up on the wind shield along with oat husks, you name it - windy days on the farm. And the winter ones hold up the best.

I have the Bosch micro edge on my truck, 1 works amazing, the other one sucks. Its squeks and bounces, its extremely annoying. So idk if i got 1 bad one or whats up. But on both our BMW and my moms Benz we put the really high end Bosch flexy wipper thing on them and they work amazing. They contour to the window, they never jump or anything. Kind of pricy but our local autozone had a sale buy 1 wiper get the other free. Thing is her benz only takes 1 wiper. But im not sure if that type fits out trucks.

i have the triple edge from wal mart on mine. they are silicone and lifetime guaranteed.

i run the season appropiate rain-x washer fluid and the rain-x re-curve wipers and when i park for the night in winter i stand up my wiper arms and than once th etruck is warm and the snow is cleared off i lay them back down and use the winter rain-x to get rid of the ice heck i don't even own an ice scraperi get about 18months out of mine. i also use the rain-x anti-fog agent on my mirrors and all glass except windshield. i also have those wiper arm tensioners on both vehicles.
i do not use those washer fluid heaters as they do not last for more than a seaon

In winter, I keep a spray-bottle filled with Prestone De-Icer washer-fluid, and give the icey windshield a good soaking.

Many years ago, the factory washer-pump quit; so, I have had one of those generic ten-dollar washer-pumps for years; a lot better than the Ford one, for darn sure.

One big advantage with the generic pump is that the wipers need not be ON for it to work.

what i want to do though is find a way to put wipers and washer fluid nozzles on for my headlights because in the spring and fall here to drive 400km's i have to stop like 3-4 times to clean off my headlights.

They are spring loaded and hold the blade to the windshield better. I like them..

I don't have to deal with snow... but i got those new latittude ones from rainx I think it was last time. And they seem to work really well. They're the funky looking ones that don't look like normal wipers...
