Why has new member registration been disabled?

My friend Brandon with the idi IH pickup has been trying to become a member here but when you click register this comes up: Sorry, registration has been disabled by the administrator. Any ideas?

The board was getting spammed. I had to PM a mod to get mine set up. They got it done quick, too.

I was messaged by a mod and replied twice but no response. How did you message them without a s/n?

I used the "contact us" link at the bottom of the main page. I made sure to include my email address. They replied the next day and asked what name I wanted.
