It's definitely not a cummins, but I'm not sure whether it a 6.6 or 7.8. I know the ford sixes had the exhaust on the drivers side.

Looks kind of small to be a Brazillian Ford, I don't see a turbo- anyone else??

I did a search on google and this is what I found.

The 6.6 and 7.8 are Ford built engines made in Brazil, they were originally used in Ford farm equipment. Ford used them in trucks and buses from about 1987 to 1992 or so.

Most likley its a 6.6. 7.8's were only in larger trucks. 6.6's are a square engine (both bore and stroke is 4.4") the 7.8 as the same bore, just a larger stroke. Also as long as you don't have to buy parts (very rare) for it you shouldn't have any problems. Just a little low on power.

That valve cover looks like a 6.6 valve cover.
I have the 6.6 in a 1988 3 ton with a 5+2 speed rear. My 6.6 is grey and has a turbo on it from the factory. If this one did, I would bet money that the picture is a 6.6 Ford.

It seems real hard to find any online info or forums regarding the 6.6 I-6 Ford.
They are a good reliable workhorse, just a little shy on power; just like our IDI's They are very heavy however.

It's kinda hard to tell from the pics but it doesn't look like a 6.6 or 7.8 to me, But I've been wrong before.
