I just found a website which answered all my questions regarding wiring changes to update the glowplug controller and relay on my 6.9.Wiring diagrams as well as text. There is info here which goes clear back to the early '83 contoller. Lots of other great info here as well.

There is a tech file article that is how I updated my IDI to the SS controller and system! I also have a 1965 Mack B755 Thermodyne Diesel with a Tri-Plex, Full Screw, 325hp V-8.

That guy has a pretty good site, and it's been around a long time too. He was one of the veterans to offer IDI info on the web.
