Was the 1980 F-250 also badged Ranger?

As you may know I'm actively looking for a bed donor truck for my 84' - I've come across a 1980 F-250 with an 8ft bed, dual fuel tanks and generally the same truck, but it's badged as a Ranger F-250. Was this normal?

Its a special option, looks like to me.
Something to do with being a camping truck.

Ranger was a package, just like XL, XLT etc. It was used in full size trucks until they assigned the name for their mini truck that replaced the Mazda (Ford Courier).

So presumably the bed will be plug-n-play.

Wow, what luck to come across a vehicle whose bed and tailgate are intact, and the rest of the body is trashed. It's usually the other way around!

Yep, that bed should be a direct bolt on. That blue/white truck was probably a really nice truck when new.

I think 81 was the last year of the Ranger full size. I had a 81 ranger xlt lariat camper special extra cab with a 351 in it.

Once the little Ranger's came out, there were no more big Ranger's, that's for sure. It was also around that time that the F-100 went away. Sure is weird seeing an 80-86 body style that says F-100 on it.

That's interesting to learn. I'd always just figured the F-100 was unpopular with the F-150 being around.

F100 was dropped from 4x4s in 76? i dont really recall off hand and F-100 was dropped all together in 84. the Ranger was the highest trim package available until 82 or so. there was also an explorer package in the 60s and 70s.
