WANTED!! IDLER pully mounting bolt!

I have a serpentine Bracket for installation on my truck for PWS/AC/Vacuum and tensioner and idler.

I need the IDLER pulley mounting bolt. I cannot get it locally as these trucks are few and far between in any auto wrecker.

I've tried the local dealer and they are NO help what so ever as they just say NO LONGER AVAILABLE

So I turn here for the correct bolt.

Al, I know the idler bolt is a round headed cap screw and takes a T-50 torx bit. I am not sure of length or thread pitch, but the bolt would be metric. I am at work now, but I will check tonight when I get home and see if my "spare" idler has a bolt in it and get you some measurements. I assume you could get a bolt at a hardware store once you had the appropriate measurments. The metric bolt grade is probably 8.8 or 10.9.

I could try that but I know that the bolt is a special SHOULDERED bolt to fit the idler and thus most likely store bolts won't work I've got the aluminum bracket to test fit but so far no bolts seem to work as mentioned it's a special one! UGH

You are right, Al - It is a special shouldered bolt. I bet the reason you can't get one from Ford is the bolt came with the idler assembly and you would need to order the whole assembly. The idler assembly looks like it might be available yet from Ford. http://www.trademotion.com/parts/1993/FORD/F-350/index.cfm?searchText=ys-262&siteid=213787&year=1993&make=FORD&model=F-350&submodel=&vehicleid=1126729. The part number on my spare idler box is F5TZ-8678-BB and also YS-262. Now I have not installed this idler on my truck, but it sure "looks" like the one that is on there now. I took some pictures of the bolt and was going to measure it, but measurements don't do you much good as it is not a standard bolt anyway. I will try and upload the pictures but they might crash the thread, in which case I will have to go back in and delete them. Todd

Checked at Skaha Ford, they had both types of Idlers in stock, neither NEITHER came with bolt!@$#)U$@W)(*$*%(@#$*%&

The picture shows the bolt included in the idler assemby, but that is one expensive bolt if you already have the idler.

I guess if you bought the idler with the bolt, you could keep your current idler for the spare.

Al, did you also need a bolt for the tensioner too?That bolt length depends on the type of tensioner you have. When I switched over to the tensioner with the shock, I ordered a longer metric flanged bolt to work with that. Of course, I had to order 5 of them at once so I have few extras. If you need one let me know. I'd send that too you for the cost of shipping. However, that bolt you might be able to find in a hardware store.
