Wacker T442 sealant

anyone know where i can get the wacker t442 sealant???? i cant find it anywhere

did you try International? You should also be able to use other brands.

I assume you are doing a intake gasket? (Only time I have seen T442 referenced.)

If you are talking about the grey international rtv, i didn't use that on my oil pan but rather use "right stuff" by permatex or my personal favorite from the euroworld is a product by Victor Reinz called Reinzosil. Stuff is freaking awesome but don't expect to separate the two again.

well i planned on using it on the intake and on the oil pan but you guys would say permatex right stuff is about the same? is right stuff all it says on the tube??

Right-Stuff works awesome. Only RTV I will allow on the buses besides the (grape-jelly) that Detroit sells for the engine.

i reinzosiled my oil pan in on the 7.3, the 6.9 got right stuff.

I remember the first time i had to seperate a honda crv oil pan after i used reinzosil in. I trashed the oil pan before i finally got it to seperate. I usually use reinzosil to do the northstar oil pans as i've never had one come back leaking.

I take the factory gm oring out of the groove in the oil pan, clean both surfaces well and squeeze a whole tube into it and its goooood.

copper on the oil pan?
are you actually using a gasket? if you are don't even bother with a gasket. Just clean both mating surfaces and use rightstuff or reinzosil on the pan. i used copper coat on my manifold.

DON'T USE THE COPPER!!!! Oil will eat it away and you'll have a leak or worse. Right Stuff is about the only thing besides ultra-black that can reliably seal an oil pan. Anything else will break down and find its way to the oil pickup. We won't go into to how I know this but it involved a friends truck that wasn't sealed right and a 500 dollar tow bill home.

oh wow! i wont be using that on the oil pan then ill stick to my first idea on the right stuff grey in intake and pan and copper on the exhaust manifolds. im glad you said that!
