Hey guys, I’m in the middle of putting my engine back together. And I want to replace the valve stem oil seals. Pretty much everything I have read says I should use the 6.9 seals because the allow for better oiling of the valve guides. I got the felpro head set that come with 8 intake oil seals and then 16 small oil shields that snap into the bottom of the spring retainer. But now that I’m looking around it appears there is another option for the exhaust valve seals and it’s called a longer oil shield that looks more like a clear umbrella that snaps onto the bottom of the valve spring retainers. So what is the best set up for these? Do I need to order the longer oil shields? Also since my existing felpro kit come with 16 smaller oil shields am I supposed to put those on the intake valves too? Here are a few pics of what I currently have.
