If it were only for runaway purposes that you wanted it, then yes, but the CDR performs a bit more than that. IT regulates the crankcase pressure, hence the name crankcase depression 'regulator' otherwise it would be called a crankcase depression open closer. The thing maintains a slight positive pressure on the system while allowing vacuum to draw off vapour without sucking oil droplets. A bit more complicated than it looks. when they get dried out or dirty or holes in themthey don't work right.

Thanks, I wasn't sure how much the rubber diaphram moved around, I do know that the roundness of the CDR can make it act as a reservoir for oil to collect in

stallin it out works but might be cool to cut off the source of the runaway - i.e the oil.

got a 3/4" ball valve, i wanted to use an electronic valve but couldn't find any. later on maybe I'll add that. Pics to come when I get done with the valve install and custom intake junk

You could rig yourself a chambered canister for an oil trap inline to your valve to make this little ditty a bit more automatically functional.

thought about using a P trap with a drain at the bottom that feeds off to something. For now since its simplist I'll just add my new valve. Gotta drill 3 holes and cut some hose and make a bracket, then it'll be back on the street

with the new intake over the old aluminum banks box the turbo is alot louder (could hear it inside the truck!) and the test run around the block felt stronger

after draining all of the oil out of the CDR and finishing the intake/turbo junk it smokes alot less, and i gained a good bit of power back!@
