I have an Idea. Why can't the TPS or FIPL be set to a higher than normal level and a variable resister set up to adjust the current. So with a adjustable resister (potentiometer or variable resistor) wired in between the middle wire, one could technically adjust their timing on the fly... Right? Of course I could imagine a scenario where one twists it all the way and your transmission downshifts to one and blows up. But maybe switches with set hardwired resistors that create the effect you know is safe. You could at minimum have a towing mode, highway mode and fun mode. Thoughts?

Tps only talks to the e4od trans. Has nothing to do with pump timing.

That is what I men't to say, as poorly worded as it was. But doesn't that have it advantages? shifting quicker or later.

I suppose a resistor array to adjust the signal to the pcm could have benefits to firm up the shifts. My plan is to watch the tach and shift when I want. LOL

you could do that if you wanted.the aftermarket controllers do it and im sure just the same way.setup a potentiometer with 3 settings.
set one between the idle line so you get 1.05 idle - 1.20 idle - 1.25 idle.

like laserjock says though, your not going to change engine timing but you can change shift firmness/shift timing slightly.
that said,it's not going to be anywhere as good as installing a transgo shift kit.;)

that's a much slower shift though.:D

I think it would be cool but I don't know how you would do it with our pump. This is why I've spent a lot of time thinking about an auxillary fuel system to go over top of a "stock" calibration pump. About all you could do would be an adjustable smoke puff limiter I think. Might be able to modify it for manual control with an actuator.

Our E4OD cpu OMLY works with the trans. Nothing else.. We can put the fast idle cold advance system on a switch. Only issue there is you will have the full cold advance on a hot or working hard engine. Some have done this when they pull long grades towing heavy. Personally I feel it brings in way too much advance and hurts performance.

2 IP's, custom lines with a 2-1 adapter for bringing the 2 IP lines into one main line into injector. Run around town using only 1 IP and then with a flip of a switch you have the other IP pushing fuel (CC's) as well.

That's one possibility. The new direct injection injectors are getting close to the diesel injectors. There's a few options. I don't know what the feasibility of any of them really is but you got the idea.
