We took the truck over to Santa Cruz yesterday to test the new transmission cooler, and to go to the beach.

The results were every bit as good as I had hoped. On the same run, with the OEM setup from Ford, I got trans temps of 220*F. The probe is in the port in the pan.

Yesterday the temps maxed out at 165*, with the new cooler. The cooler is a Tru-Cool Max 4739, bought from Bob Riley at Dieselsite. During the installation I changed the pan, filter, and the fluid.

The cooler is mounted in front of the radiator, in front of everything else there. I wanted it there rather than underneith in order to avoid as much road crap as possible. Bugs will be problem enough. I don't need road crud too.

Even my wife was happy with the result, said the money was well spent.
