Does anyone know if a bad pcm can cause a code 92&29 on a 94 ford f-350 7.3 idi

Might be a stupid question but why not look for a 20 valve v-10? Pretty sure they use the same bolt pattern as the 5.4. If a power upgrade is the overall goal, I would think the larger gas which came in that platform would be easier than going for the retro-swap.

low end torque is the goal.

i found the case i need. 600 for a new one. ill order it next month

Then look up R&D IDI performance and members @typ4 and @Agnem. Those will be your best advisors for what to do for to get the power out of an IDI.

Just just to play devil's advocate, I have seen the 5.4 and v10 perform well with some tuning. Depending on what your budget is it might be worth looking into what you will spend on the swap and comparing that against what you can do with a gas motor. I only say this because it might get you what you want easier and quicker. That being said if you're all set on the IDI swap I will gladly watch. Great idea and I sincerely hope the best in your build.

That is likely, but I saw multiple (more than 10) 2 valve 5.4 and v10 pass the 200k mark while working as ranch or farm vehicles. I cannot say the same for 3 valve versions. They seem to have issues about 100k

I’m pretty sure the 6.0/7.3 zf6 case is the same as idi. I remember a member posting pics of all the bellhousing bolts lining up to each other
