Track bar with RSK?

Thanks, that's the most reasonable explanation I've heard. I had not made the connection regarding steering box and linkage style, but indeed most earlier trucks I've worked on have a short drag link moving forward/backward working the drivers side knuckle rather than across to the tie rod or passenger knuckle.

Why do the Chevys not need a track bar?

For the solid axle ones, I don't know. But the I would guess the ifs doesn't need one. Lol

Why do the Chevys not need a track bar?

Solid axle Dodge and Chebbies (70's-80's) had the shackle at the rear of the spring and the pivot point for the shackle went through the frame. They also used really stiff 2.5" wide springs up front and most of them had a pitman arm pointing towards the left, pushing a draglink to the driver's side knuckle with a J bracket. Those ones don't receive the side to side push/pull when steering like the Y-link crossover linkage setup.
