im going to be towing my fithwheel tomorrow about 200 miles . it weighs about 7500lbs dry my truck is a 91 f250 with a 7.3 lt n/a 4*4 and has a 4aod trans . towing at 55mph at 2000rpm with o/d off would it hurt my motor much
im not worried about the fuel comsumption too much ,caus i find in o/d it keeps going in and out at 60 mph havent tried going faster though

You are good to go.

However, some fivers sit WAY high in the air stream. It takes a LOT of HP to move all that air. You should be fine at 55, but speed up to 65 to so, and watch the engine temp rise.

Don't be afraid to go into OD if towing on flat ground, and the tranny is not "hunting" between OD and drive. When it starts hunting for Drive just push the button and stay in drive.

Get some gauges if you dont allready have them, Trans, Water, EGT. Just keep and eye on them so you dont cook anything.

+1 on the cooler. I think if Ford had OEM'ed these with a BIG cooler on them, the E4OD would have a much better reputation.
