I'd be on for $20 on a bushing/boot to eliminate the slop. When I align mine I clock the tie rods so there is only minimal slop/rocking. Don't want them at the limits but I don't think there is much movement there. Never had an issue with premature wear.
As for tie rod brand I usually use Moog as it's a quality part and locally available next day if not in stock. This l;atest time I went Pep Boys rebadged who knows what. Got all 4 and adjusters dirt cheap with a 30% discount for order online local pickup. They don't seem flimsy or anything, but one won't take grease. Been meaning to swap it out for a while but last time I was in I asked if they would give me one and I could swap and bring back... They said must bring old defective in to get replacement. I'll get to it one of these days. Still no slop in it but still won't take grease. I will use Moog next time as I've never had trouble with their quality.
