The throttle cable I bought from O'Reilly Auto Parts is slightly too long. Does anyone have an idea what would be good die spacer at the end of it?

Should be able to find some cable crimp ends at a local hardware store. I've seen folks use lead fishing weights, but they won't hold up as long and are likely to fail sooner than a good steel cable crimp.

And, shorten on the pedal side of the cable, not the IP side.

some Ford Rangers (mine included) have the same kind of problem with the throttle cable... lots of guys just put zipties on it at the pedal end.

Pull the slack thru at the pedal end and put a SMALL cable clamp on it. The one like a tiny muffler clamp style or u bolt style.... Worked great on black dog....
