Welll to make a long story short my truck is not running right now,
The other day i thought hey why not put some fuel in the rear tank and use it, since i never used it before, wekk i did that and the first day or two ut works great no problems, well yesterday it started acting up eveytime i push the clutch in to stop it would die, and i could tell i was lacking power, cause it was all i could do to hold 75mph when normally i can hit 95 pretty easy, well when i get home i sgut it off and go away for a while, i come back about an hour later and try to crank it so i can go to the store, well all it did was turn over, so i got to checking and soon found out it was the fuel filter plugged well i changed it, it get fuel to the IP now, but the IP is not working now you dont know how much i wanted to burn it at this point, but i shook that feeling off cause i like my truck, so it looks like im going to be droping the tanks and getting everything out, and even possibly changing tanks on the truck, oh yea the stuff stopping the filter up was a brown slime

I had a look in my storage unit, and all I found was a U joint for the rear shaft (same as front shaft?) and a couple of D50/D60 hub seals. No luck with the axle joint I thought I had.

Sorry to hear about your luck, but the good news is cleaning the tanks shouldn't cost a whole lot, just time.

The IP FSS might be plugged up, but other than that I am not sure what else would be jammed....injectors as well?

sounds like algae from the tanks sitting empty too long or fuel sitting in there too long. well hopefully if the IP is dead you still have your warranty on it.....?

I don't think they warranty items that are pushed till the tach comes back around to the 2k mark again

Fuel contamination is prolly not covered in the warranty.

Some pumps have a fuel inlet filter. Pull the inlet adapter. See if there's crap holding things up. Coupla heavy doses of fuel treatment might help, too.

They wont cover the pump over fuel contamination, and the pump was so hot it would burn you when you touched it dont think thats normal is it?

hmm sounds like i got lucky! i had not used my rear tank the entire time i owned my truck because i heard it leaked from the guy who sold it to me and i had no idea how long he had it empty for but i fixed it after a year of me having the truck and filled it with fuel and away i went i got a new fuel filter sitting in the truck just in case but nothing has seemed to change ..... sorry about your luck hope you get it fixed up fast

hmm sounds like i got lucky! i had not used my rear tank the entire time i owned my truck because i heard it leaked from the guy who sold it to me and i had no idea how long he had it empty for but i fixed it after a year of me having the truck and filled it with fuel and away i went i got a new fuel filter sitting in the truck just in case but nothing has seemed to change ..... sorry about your luck hope you get it fixed up fast

just some advice, if it takes off acting up switch tanks and filter immediatly

well of course not but i believe that he put a new pump on and has not molested this one yet.

I had that happen when I had my engine out for rebuild for a few months. I dumped a bunch of Kill-em in one tank and for some blamed reson I forgot to hit the other one and first trip out when I switched tanks it was clogging the pre screen in the bowl on the electric pump in a few miles, I just had to run on one tank that trip and then around town dump the killem in the bum tank and drive around and clean the screen every few miles till I ran the bum one out, then it was fine after that.

learn something new everyday i write these down in my spiral so i always have a reference when i need it and i need a new spiral already no more pages ....... dont worry tho you'll get her going soon then its one less thing to worry about... that keeps me from setting mine on fire lol good luck

Ouch. The hot pump thing is not good. This may indicate a lack of fuel flowing through it. No doubt since the filter plugged, some smaller stuff that fits through it made its way down the line. I doubt the inlet screen would stop stuff that small, but it wouldn't hurt to look. You could also pull the top cover and see what it looks like in there. After all, your IP warranty is crap now anyway.

i pulled the top cover, it had some algea looking crap in it, and it was full of black fuel i got the front tank dropped and poured all the fuel out and it had alot of water in it and it was black
