Okay, I have to ask a question...why was superdutydiesel.com created? At first glance, it looks to me like it's being run by OB. Not that that's a bad thing, but it does seem redundant to me. If the purpose is to attract more Ford people, why not just have that site as a "main place" but link to the forums here on OB?

I haven't been on in the past few days, so I apologize if the question's been answered elsewhere.

Thanks :)

Not to put words into anyones mouth, I think it was created to help attract sponsors. I also think its a bad idea. So far all it has done is (as somebody else said ) dilute the membership here.
You can't compete with TDS. Forget about TDS (all of us) *** cares if you got banned over at TDS 25 times. Putting that crap in a signature makes you look like a loser and doesn't help the image of this place either. (When I say loser I mean it in the best possible sense :) )
Site was just beginning to gain momentum and now its been set back six months in one fell swoop.
Make your own niche in the diesel market and forget about TDS, DTR or whatever.

Bad idea or not, statistically OB has been busier since Friday then it was last week from Friday-Monday.

Agree with ya.

Came back after being gone a few days and was confused & still am why in the heck SDD was created.

Me thinks it's a bad idea & will only serve to splinter members here.

Why should I go there & post when we have a forum here & why should I post here when there is a SD forum there

So if it's been buiser than last week would it not be even busier if SD forums had not been created

Almost everyone there thinks that its a good idea. So maybe there is enough to go around. Time will tell. Let's not jump to conclusions. At this point I don't see any real harm in seeing how things play out. Both sites are still growing daily at the moment.

Frank, I agree that the glowplug-threads get kinda old "over there"; and that very few newbies even bother to search; but let's face it, the search engine over there is a piece of ****. WHY they can't be bothered even to change the freakin defaults from '1 week' to 5 years, is beyond me...

Heck, even when using it right, with "+" etc., it still doesn't work well. And part of that is just the nature of the beast. Even threads about -trannies- often mention IP's or glowplugs... That's just how people (we too) are.

I haven't even -found- the archives here yet... :D

Maxpower: one problem here is that links do not show up as a different color. It'd be real nice if they did...

I don't see any reason in the world why this site couldn't take over 80% of TDS's IDI traffic. If the sharp guys move here, then the newbs will follow, via the search engines listing most recently-active relevant sites as the first hits in the list...
