The famous stiff clutch pedal.... thinking pressure plate?

Been a long time since I posted here... short on time these days as a single dad of a 2 year old. I think the truck is going to a mechanic, but I'd like to order all the parts ahead of time.

Stiff clutch pedal that's plagued this truck for years busted another release fork. I've changed the throw out bearing and the input bearing retainer together, and it was still stiff as hell. What else is left to change?

As for ordering a clutch kit, I can go 11" or 12". I don't know what I have, but will either one work? I rarely haul anything, so I want the one that's easy to release, haha.

When you replaced teh TO bearing before, did it match the pressure plate? There are two different types of bearings, one with a flat face will go with a pressure plate with angled fingers and one with a rounded face will match a plate with flat fingers. If you replace a to bearing randomly sometimes you can get a mis match if the clutch is not stock and the bearing can behave poorly.
If you are getting a whole kit this time they *should* be matched , but check anyway., make sure whoever is ding the install knows to grease the fork

Make sure the input bearing retainer where the throw-out bearing slides is lubed a little bit.

thats funny you mention about the 2 different style TOB. I noticed this myself. The original one that came out of my 7.3 setup had a flat face on it. When i installed my 5.9 i used a dodge flywheel and pressure plate and the stock ford disk. (just because of money reasons) I purchased a new ford TOB for the new pressure plate and noticed the TOB had a tiny flat part then it slopped down the rest of the way. It didnt look like it sat on the fingers very well and i thought the fingers might do funny things riding on the slope part.

about 3 months ago i ordered a new Valair full clutch setup to replace everything i have. And get the small ford disk out of there. I have yet to install it lol. I have all my tranny parts for a full rebuild as well sitting here. Hope to get everything in in the next couple weekends. I asked the company to please exchange the dodge TOB for a ford TOB. When i received everything it was the same slopped one that i have installed right now. Im wondering if i can pm you a pic of my Valair pressure plate and tell me if i should use the flat TOB or the slopped one they provided. Thanks. Hope this doesnt sound like a hi jack. sorry

Might be able to eyeball it, would be easier in person, but shoot it to me, I'll take a peek.
