My second engine swap is a success:hail I found my engine in the marketplace with recent BB's and injection pump. I got to meet high psi and gave him full asking price for his engine and injection system. It took me a while to get it in the truck, yeah, the whole personal life getting in the way with the big D going on:rolleyes:

I got most of everything buttoned up tonight and decided to see if she would fire. GP's stayed on for a good solid 15-20 seconds, and fired up after only like 5 seconds of cranking.;Really:D No leaks, no smoke, runs smooth, like it was running yesterday. I can't believe with cracking the supply and return lines how quickly it fired.

Thank you high psi and the OB community for being there:angel: Gotta put the hood on, double check fluids tomorrow and I will have a road test for ya:cool:thumbsup:

Back in the saddle again.

Truck is together, drove it home;Really Filled up with fuel on the way to get initial mileage numbers. I love how a fresh pump really helps thes engines to start easy. I don't think the flywheel turns 90 degrees before firing over.:D

I know about cracking the supply lines, I never heard about returns.

What return lines and how do you crack them?, please

The supply line to the lift pump and return line at the back of the engine were disconnected to swap engines. I left the fuel filter, hard line from the lift pump to the filter and the bracket all in place. This kept air intrusion to a minimum. I am going to change the fuel filter after running both tanks with fuel treatment to allow condensation and such to find its way to the filter. Now when I change the filter, I will have only another small part of the fuel system apart, to allow easier priming. I kind of just stumbled across this method, but it does make sense to me.

I actually didn't even loosen any of the injector lines to prime the engine, it really lit off like it was running yesterday. Sorry if the wording threw you off.:dunno

15.08 mpg's on my initial run. 440 miles with a quarter tank left in the rear, not too bad.;Sweet I still have the pump set at high psi's N/A setting. No smoke and the power isn't horrible. 9psi of boost tells me that there is more power to be had;Really

19 and 18.2 is correct but you can add at least a gallon to both those number, with out filling the neck
