so my belt slips off my new idler pulley every morning when I try to drive down the road, its moist and cold in the mornings, my serpentine belt is 2 months old and is starting to glaze and will slip at high rpm or when dropping rpms fast, I was thinking about replacing the tensioner now, my tensioner has a damper on it, are these tensioners just the regualr spring loaded ones and somehow I take the damper off and put it on the new one or is it one piece

The tensioners with the shock absorber on them are a much better tensioner. Check Ebay.... They are listed there for around $49.00 and are ford items... Not chinese crap.... Look at the wheels on your current tensioner. If it crowned it will thru the belts. They do wear out and when they let go all hell breaks up things.... Sometimes the belt takes out the trans cooler lines at the radiator... Not fun at all....

thanks I was hoping a local parts store would have one, but looking on the websites I'm not even finding one, I hate ordering things off the internet
