Ya I'm gonna have custom tunes done to run um correctly.i know there was a guy that put some in his truck and they actually ran pretty decent without tunes but I want the full benefit of um

Some guys on another forum discussed this sd-obs engine/trans swap and the associated wiring. I just found an ambulance last week but decided the gains were not worth it at this point, from what they mentioned you will want the PCM and the idm or to do the resistor mod to your old idm.

Idm doesn't matter.
A very very knowledgeable feller has done extensive testing on idm differences. Nothing to gain even with higher levels of power.
Only one to really make a difference is the hvhf one.
You can have any pcm programmed to run on any engine.
Technically the newer pcms are better because they have more "features."
