Starter swap man to auto.

So i just got another 85 with the 6.9l auto trans.. I would like to swap the starter motor from my dead 85 4 speed in to the 85 with the auto. Dose the starter motors match? I just want to keep the starter with the lifetime warranty.

well i know when i went from a c6 to a zf5 the starter was the same. in fact i never even took it off the truck.

That is because the starter bolts to the adapter plate not the tranny.
