starter problems

have any of you had any problems with the starter staying on after you start the truck or/and after you turn the key off?

i had this problem last night and after charging the batterys again today. it looks as if the gear is also still out.

solenoid may be stuck on, did this occur after some repairs or just random?

random. the solenoid on the inner fender seems good with the meter. do you meen the one at the starter?

Yes
Low bat voltage will weld the contacts.

the solenoid and/or the bendix is done. I had one where the bendix spring broke and jammed the gear in the open position. that was no fun at all changing out a starter in a truckstop.

I've had the same thing happen with the Inner Fender Solenoid Switch.
