Starter Out?

My truck has been starting slow for the past month, it hasn't been spinning very fast at all, and then yesterday when I tried to start it, click no boom. Batteries are 6 months old and everything else electric works, is the starter tired?

Check the battery terminals before you change the starter. They need to be shiny metal so does the clamps. If you need a starter the ebay DB gear reduction starter has worked well for many here.

would this starter work with the c 6 trans i have a 7.3 idi in the truck

Any starter thats fits a 6.9 will fit a 7.3 engine but they both have to be an idi engine. We do have an engine refered to as the 7.3 psd engine. Thats a powerstroke engine that was made from 1994 thru about 1999.

Since I had the night off, I had the starter and alternator rebuilt, cables and clamps and terminals look good. Starts with 1/2 second engagement.
