A buddys '01 7.3 PSD is starting to just out of the blue shut down and then come right back cookoo

Idiot lights come on and then blink right back off......no CEL at all.......

Replaced the CPS that crapped out in rush hour traffic about 30 k mi ago.
Truck is stock with 150kmi.

Oil is 1kmi fresh, fuel filter same.

It just seems like all the power is sucked out for a split sec, then all is nermal, regardless of vehicle speed/ throttle position etc........

Just how different are they from the OBS electricly?????????????

Apples and eggplants, but here's my $.02, anyhow.

2 of our new KW's have done that momentary shutdown thing. So far, the only thing I can find, is that the coolant was a little low, and possibly was tripping the low coolant sensor.

I have passed on the info and tried the obvious "KISS" principals :D

May just throw another CPS in for S+G, but I can't see it being the culprit.

I wouldnt rule out the CPS again either.

That said, check your ICP connector. Its the one everyone does the 10k mod too. They corrode, get water in them, or the pins just get flexed and poor connection.

Also check and make sure your not getting water dripping down from the windshield or cab lights onto the computer and GEM module.

Lastly, if he has a chip, TURN THE TRUCK OFF, and re-seat the chip.
