(The Bullnose Bible). Lots of good info.
Those colors may or may not be the same as his though.
That's correct, they're only examples.
Those are the correct types. eBay. There is a couple good YouTube videos on changing the drive gears. It’s not that hard once you see how it works.
More info. Laserjock is correct, not difficult.
This has to be what I'm missing. When I pulled the old cable out there was nothing attached to it. This should be attached to cable right?
This is what it looked like when I removed it.
Yep. That be the issue.
So if I dont have the original one to go off of color. How do I tell? My transmission is a 5speed and if I'm not mistaken the 85 f350 only had a 4speed? So I'm assuming it's a zf5 from a later model?
Right. Trans shouldn’t matter. It’s rear gear and tire size. I’m 3.55 with “stock height” tires. Yellow drive gear, wine driven gear puts me on the money.
I think I'm 4.10 with stock tires, so going by the chart I should be same setup. Thanks
I think you are going to be the yellow drive and yellow driven gear. Think that’s what my truck was originally. It was 4.10 when I bought it.
I thought this was the style of gear a ZF5 uses, it's what comes up when searching.
I can’t speak for a 2wd ZF. The tcase 4x Takes the ones above.
