Well I was driving up from our shop to our house to get some parts for my truck that just arrived (door panels, rear veiw mirror, and sun visors) and I noticed my speedo was jumping around quite alot. I just replaced the speedometer cable because the speedo wasnt working at all, the cable had been broken in too two. I wasnt going fast, maybe 5 mph (gravel road, it gets dusty if you go much faster than that) and the speedo was flucksuating (spelling?) from 0 mph to 10 mph.

So what do you guys think is the problem?

I think the problem's in the speedo head. My truck's done this for as long as I've had it (and AFAIK as long as my uncle had it as well). The fluttering goes away at 35mph on my truck, and best I can tell, the speedo's accurate...

My guess is that something is binding in the speedometer, which was what broke the original cable. Maybe just needs a little lube.

Also check that the cable does not have any sharp bends in it. It needs to have nice smooth curves to turn easy.
