So I'm Speedo has been off on my 1990 f250 4x4 I'm looking for the gears to change it. Where do you get thoses at? Looked every where and I can't seem to find any.

eBay. I bought an entire set of like 4 or 5 different colors (tooth counts).

Most trucks aren't supposed to have a speedo.

Anyway, I bought several gears from a local performance shop and I forgot where he got them but they were from ford and only a few dollars a piece.

How do you go about finding what gear you need?

i really cant remember. i think there are some calculators on line i used. the smaller gear will make the speedometer read faster and the larger gear will make it slower. i just kept experimenting till i got as close to the correct speed i could.

Mine comes up with 15.8. My 16 tooth gear is spot on. Once it tells you how many teeth go look for it. They kept telling me the closest was 17 teeth. 16 teeth is available just not from them.

FYI you probably have the yellow 7 tooth drive gear.

Man, I sure am glad that this thread is about speedometers and not another clothing option for changing out a fuel selector valve! Hard to tell from the title.

I should have made it more clear. I didn't think about the title when I posted it thank god it's not about clothing
