Spare tire hardware interchangeability

So I'm looking for a spare tire and all the hardware to put it under a 1996 F250 gasser.

So I have a dually OBS with a below tank spare tire carrier, so I am super familiar with that hardware (it's in fact out of my truck right now).

Here's some other stuff I think I know:

I also know that some OBS trucks had a skid plate option.

I also know my dually rim is different than a single wheel 8 lug.

I have very little experience with pre (or post) OBS trucks.

Here's the 64,000 question: what spare tire stuff interchanges for an OBS truck undertank spare? Can I steal the hardware and spare off of a bricknose, as it seems that's all I seem to run accross these days.

Let me know, trying to avoid getting the wrong stuff.

from what I remember the carriers are the same the only differences were the length of the eye bolt and the fixed bolt that hold them to the frame
