This morning i was driving my 97 psd and it started screaming like a idler pulley locked up. Went to pull over and had no brakes. So i knew it was the vaccum pump. When i got stopped, i opened the hood and it had blown its oil all over everything. The entire side of the engine, the battery, the air box, the radiator and the hood were covered in this nasty gray slime. Not sure exactly what happened because i havent taken it off yet, but ive definately never seen that happen before.

I'm fairly sure they have a small reservoir, if I remember MIDNIGHT RIDER'S description of the little buggers...

How could that much oil come from the vacuum pump ? They arn't big enough to hold more than a couple of table spoons of oil.

Nasty gray slime is water in the oil or visa versa. the vacuum pump belt slipped on account of the oil on it, hence no vacuum. Check your oil dip stick. Pull a valve cover and see if the inside is gray slime. The oil cooler may have blown O'rings.
