Smokin out of intake

Well I ran it today without the oil fill cap on and didnt get any smoke except for what poured out the fill hole. Bad blowby! I gotta get some dang Auto RX! I will have to wait till my next check. I need 2 bottles right?

Will I need to replace the valley pan? or will it be ok? If I am not mistaken Ive heard something about poking holes in the valley pan cause if you dont you will end up with some type of leak?

When I have my air breather off I can see the CDR working you can put your hand in there by the turbo and your hand will get covered in oil, so is the CDR working properly? Can it work properly with all that blowby? I really hope I just have some stuck rings and seals and its not anything real bad.

There's an old saying that goes like this - " sometimes a cigar is just a cigar"


In this case it would mean that worn out rings are probably the culprit.

If the truck has been sitting for a long time (not running) then maybe it's the rings that aren't seating, but....

smokin85 alot of people dont believe in addatives, and im not a big fan of them also but for each there own. i do know that the auto-rx does wonders ive used it on my 85 when i first bought it. the truck was set up for a couple years and i can promise you that the po didnt believe in upkeep. the truck burnt so much oil that the exhaust reeked of it and it would burn 1qt for every 200 miles of use (no joke). the truck also had very low oil pressure and after taking a compressure test revieled that the compression was all over the place for each cylender and not a one was over the 350 mark. i purchased two bottles of the stuff and did a treatment for the recomended mileage. i drained the oil added a filter filled back up with rotella and added a bottle of the rislone and i continued this for the next two oil changes. its not a fix like the snap of your fingers, it takes time for it to work. after the treatments of the autorx and the rislone it doesnt burn no where near the oil, the oil pressure is normal and every cylender read in the 400 range. if you are like me at the time i didnt have the cash to do a complete rebuild so i had to do what i could at the mean time. i can tell you this i put new injectors, adjusted the timing with my meter and the engine is still running strong but the truck is falling apart, as soon as im through with all the fiberglass work on my shrimp boat im puting it in there without a rebuild.
