Slow/stuttering power windows

Hey all,

The windows in my 91 F350. The drivers side is SLOW and the passenger side you either have to physically pull up the window while pushing the switch or go up and tap it down and tap it back up kinda bumping it up to get it to roll up.

I was originally thinking I needed new motors but I read somewhere it's actually the window channel I need to replace? I'm sure at least the passenger side needs me to replace those little nylon cylinders behind the gear.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Pull the door panel off and if it’s fast again then replace the channels. Make sure and lube the moving parts when you’re in there. If that doesn’t fix it then it’s time for a motor

It's not helpful, but we used to call this "Carthritis" when I was in high school.

Is there anything I could do in the meantime if it's the channels? Would there be any reason not to spray the channels with silicone spray?

What would be "proper" lube for the moving parts of the reguator? Regular grease? I have no problem pulling it apart, I need to replace those nylon nubs under the gear anyway.

I like to use a dry silicone spray but grease will lube it just the same. I wouldn’t lube the channels or you’ll have baby puke on your window every time you roll it up or down. Just remove the inside channel for the time being.

you can adjust and lube it up. i put motors from a 97 in mine and they are faster and quieter. i believe its a direct bolt in. not saying this as a 100% cause but there are springs that help the window go up, they might be tired.

I used white lithium on my doors .Probably not the best thing to use, but it's what I had on hand and so far its worked for almost a year now .
