Hey everybody I got a blow-by situation. Many of you are probably thinking.....oh great, not another one :backoff! I know this has been an ongoing subject for a while but I want to make sure I am on the right track.
Lately, I have been trying to figure out why there is so much darn oil in my intake manifold. Ever since summer hit, it has been quite noticeable. I pull off the oil cap and the CDR can't keep up with the excessive blow-by. It is not spraying white smoke out but huffing a bit. I remove the air filter and oh baby....lots of oil and blow-by being diverted back into the engine.
(Sorry guys, no RDT for me! Too messy and has been known to create engine leaks which I don't want!)
My first instinct was to replace the CDR which I did about a week ago. Even though the old one passed the test, I was hoping it would help the oil situation.......but it didn't.
So here is my opinion. The truck either has MANY more miles than what the PO told me, or I have one or more piston rings stuck causing excessive blow-by. Either way, I plan on doing a double treatment of auto-rx (4 bottles on the way).
One last thing. The blow-by is minimum when the engine is cold. Oil level is correct as well....also not running Shell Rotella.
Any advice and/or comments would be appreciated! Like always, thanks again guys.

Haha Wayne you crack me up sometimes. It doesn't really bother me much because the truck drives down the road like it's intended to. It has got my attention because I have heard wonderful diesel runaway stories and it would just scare the hell out of me if mine decided to take off like a top fuel dragster lol. Oh Wayne, thanks again for giving me advice a while back when I called. Hope I never interrupt or bother you too much :hail.

Nope, I don't mind the calls or questions. I do it to others all the time. I love these trucks and anyone who knows me, knows I love talking and learning all I can about them. :D
