When I was rotating the engine to remove the tc nuts, I got three off before the engine seized up...

So I had to pull the engine off with the tc still on... Fearing the possibility that I may have nicked the teflon seal on the input shaft of the e4od, I got a new one.

My question is, when installing the new teflon seal, is heavy amounts of vaseline smeared all over it a good idea? If not, then how would you prep the new seal for receiving a tc? It is the square cut seal, not like a o-ring...

Just use some ATF. Any greasy substance will get into the clutches. Line up the TC carefully and slide it on, turning to engage the stator. Shouldn't be much else to it.

Making sure the engagement is into the dogs internally is about the most important thing I can think of. You can see and feel when its seated correctly.

If it's a teflon seal, it may need to be installed dry! My engine's rear seal was a teflon seal and it said right on it "Install Dry".

I installed it dry, and it still doesn't leak. Knocks on wood.
