I think, and could be wrong, but they should be the same up to the late 90s.

True but... The van bolt pattern stayed the same till much later... Someone will chime in with that information....

Dually rims within the Ford family have varying back spacing, so you may want to check that.

SRW truck rims were 8x6.5 up through 1997 until they went metric on the 1999. I'm not sure on dually wheels, and van wheels.

thee are some dually rims that have the offest that can handle a 235/85/16 tire without touching. You are virtually assured if you are using the 2001 and later E350 rims. their shape is noticeably different and they have a whole shitload of holes compared to the four you normally see.
