Return line under turbo?

Is it ok to run the return line under the turbo with some heat shield?

I would say that it should be fine. Try to position it as far away as you can (line will allow). My ATS setup has a heat shield (small plate) to keep stuff from contacting the turbo body. I don't have the return line wrapped with anything.

If you would look at the Banks parts list, there is a "Blanket heat shield" and a "Metal Shield" for just what your asking about to run the return lines under the turbo.

Even with those shields, Banks recommend running the return line around the front of the intake in a big loop. I'm not sure what ATS recommends, but I put "T's" in between injectors 2 and 4 and 3 and 5 rather than have the huge loop. Plus, it's easier to get to if you need to change a line due to a leak. Mel runs the connecting return line at the front of the engine between injectors 1 and 2 IIRC.

+1 on the big loop in front of the intake horn. That's what I did on mine. No ill effects so far.

Yep I did look, but I was born with a questioning mind, just wanted to see what the brain trust thought about it.

It doesn't matter where the crossover of the injectors happen as long as every injector can "see" the fuel tank you are fine. I did the cross over on mine between the middle injectors (#5 and the tee at the rear).
